Oyinlola: PDP wants judgment execution arrested
Nigeria’s Federal High Court on Wednesday in Abuja reserved 12 February to hear an application for stay of execution of a judgment that removed the National Secretary of the PDP, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, from office.
The party, through its counsel, Mr Joe Gadzama (SAN), filed the application, urging the court to stay the execution of the judgment delivered on 11 January.
It said that staying the execution of the judgment “will enable us to appeal the decision’’.
Justice Abdul Kafarati held that all parties in the matter should be served with the processes before the adjourned date.
Kafarati said that all other sundry applications would be entertained on 12 February.
Kafarati on 11 January ordered Oyinlola to vacate the position as his election as the National Secretary of the party was a “flagrant violation of two court orders’’.
Kafarati said that there was evidence that two separate orders from a court in Lagos dated 27/4/2012 and 2/5/2012 ordered the stoppage of the conduct of the congress that made Oyinlola the South West candidate for the post.
