Edo Assembly Adjourns Over Abducted Member
The Edo House of Assembly on Monday adjourned sitting till February 11, following Sunday’s alleged abduction of its member, Mr. Victor Edoror, at his Esan Central Constituency.
The Speaker, Mr. Uyigue Igbe, confirmed at plenary under matters of urgent public importance on Monday in Benin that Edoror and his driver were abducted by unknown persons on Sunday.
Igbe urged the police, the State
Security Service and other security agencies to quickly wade in to ensure the release of the abducted legislator and the driver.
The Speaker also urged members of the public to assist in the matter by providing useful information to the security agencies in the state.
He urged the House Committee on Security to liaise with all relevant security agencies, adding that the House would adjourn sitting for a week, till February 11.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the House resumed sitting on January 28, from the Christmas and New Year holidays.
