Captain of Federal Government College, FGC, Warri Cricket Club, Andrew Aroy-Ororho has said that the team dedicated their victory over Foundation Cricket Club, FCC of Lagos in the second stanza of the Club Cricket Committee, CCC, league to their late player, Austin Alikali who died a day after the club’s Annual General Meeting, AGM.

FGC upset FCC by six wickets in the match played weekend at the Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval. Orohoro  said that the launching of the FGC new kits as well brought luck to the team, adding that the victory was as well dedicated to one late Alikali.

“The new jersey we launched brought luck to us. We also want to dedicate the victory to Alikali who died a day after the FGC AGM, may is soul rest in peace,” said the captain.

Aroy-Ororho attributed their success to hardwork, adding that they started the season badly losing three matches, but the mid-week games have helped their performance.

“Our victory was as a result of hardwork. Though we started the season badly, we lost three games to FCC, GCI Cricket Club  and Ibeju Lekki  in the first stanza of the league, but with the mid-week games, we have been coming up gradually with wins.
