CAF Champ League: Coach lauds Pillar's victory

Kano Pillars’ coach, Babaganaru Muhammad, on Saturday described the teams 5-1 victory over visiting Olympic Bangui of Central Africa Republic in the CAF Champions League as a well deserved.

Muhammad commended the determination and passion shown by the players in the match played at Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.

The coach said his players would continue to be focused during this league season.

“I am very happy with the boys’ performances and I thank God for the well-deserved victory because the visitors gave us a good fight to the end,’’ he said.

Bello Kofarmata opened scoring in the 16th minute when he superbly slotted in a pass from Kamilu Ammani.

Nasiru Ali doubled the lead in the 37th minute with a solo effort but the visitors pulled a goal back in the 44th minute through Ulrich Guenzet.

The third and fourth goals came from substitute Nafiu Ibrahim in the 57th and 66th minutes.

Pillars’ midfielder Rabui Ali scored the last goal in 90th minute to the admiration of the home fans.
