The Super Eagles will resume camping for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Kenya in the first week of March, an official said on Tuesday in Abuja.

Musa Amadu, the Secretary-General of Nigeria Football Association (NFA), said in a statement that the team’s Nigeria-based players would be in camp two weeks before the arrival of the overseas-based professionals.

The match is slated for the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Saturday, March 23.
Amadu said the overseas-based players were expected to join the camp one week to the crucial game.

“Now that we are the champions of Africa, we know that every team will prepare much harder whenever they are to play Nigeria.

“So, we don’t want to leave ourselves open to any sucker punch. Getting to the top and staying there requires a lot of hard work,” Amadu said.

Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, is expected to release the final squad list for the match after a meeting with the NFA Technical Committee.

Nigeria currently top Group F of the African qualifying series for the 2014 FIFA World Cup scheduled for Brazil.

The Super Eagles currently have four points from two matches, from a 1-0 home defeat of Namibia and a 1-1 draw against Malawi in Blantyre in June 2012.
