Buruj Football Club of Ikorodu will have their hands full when they confront Handsworth Football Club of Ikeja in a friendly match slated for tomorrow at Agidingbi Grammar School, Ikeja, Lagos.
Buruj are expected to use the friendly match as part of their preparation ahead of Lagos State Challenge Cup. On the other hand, the friendly match will be an opportunity for Handsworth’s coaching crew to test new players recruited recently ahead of Ogun State Challenge Cup.
Chief Coach of Buruj, Faka Moruf said the friendly match will be a tough one for his team considering the fact that Handsworth will be at home with their teeming fans.
“ Our friendly match against Handsworth will be keenly contested because both teams are preparing for the Challenge Cup. Our expectation is to defeat Handsworth on their home ground, anything short of that will be a disappointment,” he said.
Buruj Chairman , Salaudeen Waheed said the friendly match will help the coaching crew to select players the club intend to register for Lagos FA Cup. According to him, any player who plays below expectations may not be considered for Lagos FA Cup.
In his own reaction, Handsworth’s Team Manager, Tajudeen Olasunkanmi said Buruj is a good team but his team are ready to take their opponents to the cleaners.
