The Nigerian police authorities have rewarded four of the police officers working with the Lagos State Government, charged with the unenviable task of enforcing the law in the nation’s most populous and complex state.
Hakeem Odumosu who heads the Rapid Response Squad, was promoted from CSP to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Bayonle Suleiman, who chairs the Environmental and Special Offences Task Force, was similarly promoted from superintendent of police to Chief superintendent of police.
His deputy on the Task force, Olajide Agboola also earned promotion from superintendent of police to chief superintendent.
Also promoted to same rank is Adeshina Lawal, the Governor’s chief security officer. He was formerly superintendent of police.
At a ceremony at the Lagos House in Ikeja, Governor Raji Fashola, in the company of the police chief in the state, Commissioner Umar Manko decorated the elevated officers with their new ranks.
In his remarks at the short but impressive ceremony, Governor Fashola thanked the four Police officers for their untiring efforts to protect life and property as well as maintain law and order in the State.
Wishing the officers more successes in their career, Fashola urged them to always strive to be diligent, fair and firm in their dealings with the citizens as they carry out their constitutional responsibilities.
