6 killed in Kaduna village

Gunmen have attacked residents of Aduwan village, Zango Kataf local government area of the northern Nigerian state of Kaduna and killed no fewer than six persons, with many injured.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the gunmen shot indiscriminately for about 10 minutes, without being challenged by any security agency.

Among the injured were women and children returning from places of worships.

“We are tired of these unprovoked killings in our area without the government and security agents doing something serious about it. Our people might be pushed to the wall to take laws into their hands if within 24 hour the attackers are not fished out, ” one witness lamented

Public relations officer of the Kaduna Police Command, Aminu Lawan said the police have launched a man hunt for the killers.

The unprovoked attack has triggered fears that it may invite reprisal attacks by Zango kataf youths.

However, to forestall any breach of public peace and outbreak of violence, Kaduna State government has ordered the police to deploy its men to areas identified as flash points.

Kaduna Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero in a statement issued today and signed by the Director General on Media and Public Affairs, Ahmed Maiyaki , Yero urged the residents to remain calm and gave assurance about protecting the citizens and their property.
