Mosan Okunola Eye Junior League Title

Coach of Mosan Okunola football team, Abidemi Oluwaseyi has declared that the target of his team in the ongoing season in the Lagos Junior League is to win the tournament.

Mosan Okunola, are currently fifth on the league table after they whitewashed Bariga LCDA football team 3-0 in a match played last weekend at Alade Sports Stadium, Meiran, Lagos. Oluwaseyi a.k.a Iso, who commended his team popularly called Marvellous Football Club over the victory, said that he has what it takes to win the league at the end of the season.

A brace from Adelanwa Dotun in the first half of the match and another goal through Adeniji Adewale in the second half ensured that Mosan Okunola secured three points at stake in the pulsating match.

“I think we had a good run over Bariga at Alade Sports Stadium. I’m so glad for the victory. There is no doubt that my players are in good form to win the league despite the fact that we are fifth on the table now. If we can continue our winning streak, we can really achieve the feat,” said Oluwaseyi, a former coach of Larry FC and AS Racine of Lagos.

He said this weekend’s match against Apapa Local Government at the Legacy Pitch inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos is a match he is aiming to win in order to boost their chances in the league.

“We are battle ready to confront Apapa this weekend. I want to assure our fans that we’ll consolidate on the victory we had over Bariga in the next game,” he said.

Head of Department, HOD, Agric and Sports of Mosan Okunola LCDA, Mr. Segun Arogundade said that the support the team have been enjoying from the chairman of the LCDA, Mayor Abiodun Mafe has been the magic behind the victories in the Junior League.

“I want to thank the chairman for the support both morally and financially to the team. These have boosted the morale of the players and I believe more of this motivation will come the way of the team from the local council as the league progresses. It is our belief that the team will come top of the table at the end of the ongoing season of the Lagos Junior League.
