Premier Lotto Tourney: Fajobi, Opara Dedicate Victories To Mates

Yetunde Fajobi of Government Senior College, Agege and Franklin Opara of Alimosho Senior High School have dedicated their victories in the ongoing Premier Lotto Lagos School Athletics Championship to their schoolmates.

Fajobi ran 13.9 sec to win 100m in female category, while Opara ran 11.8 sec to emerge the winner in the 100m male category in District 1 Heat at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS Sports, Fajobi said her performance in the 100m was as a result of support she got from her schoolmates when she was preparing for the tourney.

“I want to dedicate this victory to my schoolmates and teachers who stood by me during my preparations. I think this victory will boost my morale to excel in the finals on Friday,”said Fajobi, a SS1 student of Government Senior College, Agege.

Okpara said his victory in the 100m in the male category was made possible through the support of his mates and the teachers.

“I’m so happy winning this race. I will work harder so that I can do better in the final,” he said.

Meanwhile, schools from District Four will be in action today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium for their own Heat ahead of the finals on Friday.

The participating schools from this District will be drawn from Apapa, Mainland and Surulere with 48 finalists expected to make it to the 9 March grand finale.

According to the organisers, the technical officials have unearthed several talents, while more talents are expected to be discovered this week.
