Arms found in Kaduna home near barracks

A team of soldiers from First Division, Nigerian Army last night raided a residential house located at Sabon Birni Road Kawo area within Kaduna North Local Government area of Kaduna State and discovered weapons, including improvised bombs.

P.M.News learnt that the building located few meters from 1 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters was raided following a tip off from some members of the public.

The Commander 1 Division Internal Security Force, Brigadier General Tagbo Chuks Ude who addressed newsmen today on the raid explained that the army immediately moved in and combed the area.

According to him,the owner of the house is one Husseni Dei Dei, a former ANPP Chairmanship aspirant in the FCT. Two women and five children, all occupants of the building were arrested during the operation.

Brigadier Ude further stated that, the building housing the bomb making factory will be demolished in line with Army’s resolve to deter terrorists from their activities.

However, he disclosed during the operation, six AK 47 rifles, one light machine gun, twenty seven loaded and seventeen empty AK 47 magzines and 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition were recovered.

Other weapons recovered during the raid include 275 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, one loaded light machine gun, nine prepared cans of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), one reel of firing cord and 125 pieces of detonator.
