As the country continues its march towards the 2015 general election, a call has gone to political parties in the state to consider a Christian for the office of the governor of the state.

Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Lagos State on Christian Matters, Reverend (Dr.) Sam Ogedengbe said this while speaking at the banquet and annual get-together thanksgiving service of the All Christian Leaders/Ministers Forum (ACLMF)  which took place recently in Lagos.

Ogedengbe who is also the National President of ACLMF though acknowledged the excellent performance of the current governor of the state, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, a Muslim, since the constitution does not allow him to run in 2015, and in view of the fact that Muslims have been ruling the state since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999, a Christian should be given the chance this time around.

In his sermon, Rev. Dr. Nick Medo-Uwa, the guest speaker at the event, implored Christians to always utilise the concept, “prayer with action“.

He said if all Christians could come together as being sermonized, heaven would move in their direction and stamp their request as far as putting in a Christian governor in Lagos State and all other high positions in the country.
