Murder Suspect Arrested 3 Years After

Three years after he allegedly killed his father-in-law and escaped police arrest, the long arms of the law have finally caught up with 22 year-old Ojemeri Ajiboye who is now in police custody in Benin.

Ajiboye who reportedly murdered his father-in-law simply identified as Mr. Amuli, was reported at the Afuze Police station on the 15th of October, 2010, but he managed to escape arrest.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Folusho Adebanjo, who made this disclosure while briefing journalists in Benin, said the suspect who has been on the run was arrested on 26th February this year.

He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded.

In a related incident, the police in Benin, have arrested a 20 year-old Fulani herdsman, Isah Ibrahim Mohammed for allegedly killing a co-herdsman, identified as Idirisa Jubril.

Police source has it that the suspect conspired with one Ali, now at large to kill Idirisa after which they stole his father’s cows.

Isah was arrested on 26th February this year while allegedly trying to sell the stolen cows.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command has paraded 12 suspects for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and rape.

Assorted arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

One of the rape suspects, Patrick Ehidiameh, 40 was alleged to have defiled 11 year-old girl, an allegation he vehemently denied.
