Tosin Odili was at his best when Messiah Football Club of Agege demolished Global FC 6-1 in the opening match of Ikeja Divisional Football League last Saturday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Tosin Odili of Messiah FC was the match hero when his hat trick gave his team the three points at stake in the league match that ended 6-1.

Odili, who hails from Delta State  equalised Jacob Henry’s early goal for Global FC in the 23th minute. Odili was on rampage throughout the game. He never tired of dribbling his opponents.

He made accurate passes to the delight spectators who were so surprised that a talent like Odili could be playing in Ikeja Divisional Football League.

Odili scored the third and sixth goals for his club to become the first player that will score hat trick at the ongoing Ikeja League. There is no doubt that his performance on the field contributed to his team’s success. But Odili would not agree to this as he told P.M.NEWS Grassroots Soccer Guide that the contribution of every player of Messiah FC gave them the victory.

“I had a good match and I am happy that I scored three goals for my club today(Saturday) I don’t want to say this is my best performance because my best is yet to come, he said.

Odili, who has been on the radar of  Remo United, City of David and Heartland of Owerri said he hopes to start his professional career with Chelsea Football Club of London, adding that his focus for now is to help Messiah FC win Ikeja League.

While commending the performance of Odili against Global FC, Messiah’s coach, Ushrhue Anthony the young lad is a good and committed striker who always hungry for success. He said Odili is one of the players in the club that has been the focus of some professional clubs in the country.

“We don’t want to sell Odili in a cheap price. Any suitor has to bring good money to get this player. He is one of our good players we want to keep for our outing in this year’s Lagos FA Cup, Extra Joss Cup and other high profile football competitions in Lagos

Anthony said professional clubs like Remo United, COD United and Heartland have shown interest in Odili but no agreement has been reached yet.

“It is true that Odili has attracted interest from some professional clubs, but we can only release him if the offer  is good. Odili has brighter and rewarding future and if he continues the way he is playing, the sky will be the limit for him,” said Coach Anthony.
