FESTAC Youth To Stage Amateur Show

Plans are in top gear by the FESTAC Town Youth Association, FTYA to stage an amateur boxing competition later this month. This was disclosed by the Coordinator of the association, Musibau Balogun.

Balogun informed that the association decided to stage the competition  to unearth budding boxing talents and nurture them to become future professional champions.

He stated that they would partner with the FESTAC Boxing Club and Academy, adding that the association wants interested individuals and companies to join forces with them to make the proposed event a success.

“We have concluded plans to hold an amateur show for youth in FESTAC Town and its environs. The show will hold at the FHA Playing Ground on 23 Road. A date has not been picked for the event because we still need sponsors to make the event successful”.

Balogun added that plan is to have a total of six bouts for the event with winners rewarding with medals and cash gifts as motivation. He disclosed that a medical team will have to certify boxers  that will take part in the tourney.
