Power supply at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, will be interrupted between 10 a.m. and 10.30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said in a statement that “the proposed interruption on March 10 is to allow the agency to improve on power supply at the airport.’’

According to the statement signed by the agency’s spokesman, Mr Yakubu Dati, the temporary disconnection is to enable engineers to switch over to a new and improved source of power supply to the airport.

“It is expected that the new source of power supply will drastically reduce the incidents of power outage and thereby enhance service delivery at the airport.

“The power improvement project, which is taking place simultaneously in major airports across the country, is designed by the Federal Government to improve power supply to all airports,’’ it added.
