Gunmen on tricycles launched attacks at Hotoro, Sharada and Dakata areas of Kano, northwest Nigeria killing three pesons and injuring several other civilians Sunday evening.

The attacks came few hours after Vice President Namadi Sambo left Kano.

Nigeria’s VP was in Kano to commiserate with Emir Ado Abdullahi Bayero over the 19 January attack on his convoy that claimed about seven lives and left several others wounded.

Bayero had called on Nigerians to seek God’s intervention and display patriotism to conquer security challenges facing the country.

Residents of the areas said several gun shots rent the air sending fear and panic into people.
