The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Tuesday decried the misuse of mobile phones as a tool for examination malpractice.

The NOA Director in Plateau, Mr. Musa Chantu said this during the agency’s campaign against examination malpractice at Government College, Jos.

“Handset is meant to assist in bridging the hitherto communication gap within the society as the world is striving toward globalisation.

“It is rather unfortunate that most students usually misuse the rationale of having access to this communication gadget.

“Most of you seated here who are not entitled to own a handset have one because you want to be using it for other dirty purposes, which examination malpractice is inclusive.”

Chantu advised parents to always monitor their wards on the usages of electronic gadgets and mobile phones.

He also urged the students to desist from practices that would hinder their progress.

Earlier, the principal of the college, Mrs. Cecilia Tali thanked the agency for choosing the school for the flag-off.

She lamented the high rate of examination malpractice in the country adding, “a thief or a murderer is better than someone who is involved in examination malpractice.”

Tali urged the students to be an agent of transformation.
