Imoke Splashes N25m, Land On Eagles

Members of the Super Eagles at the reception organised for them by Governor Liyel Imoke in Calabar, Cross River State Wednesday.

Members of the Super Eagles, who won the South Africa 2013 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, have been rewarded by the governor of Cross River State, Sen. Liyel Imoke.

He gave out cash reward of N25 million and land in ‘prime location’ to every member of the team.

The Governor also gave the sum of N5 million to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF. Not left out from the largesse is an indigene of the state, Peter Edibe, the only Nigerian match official at  the AFCON 2013.

The Federal Government, some states governments and private individuals gave cash rewards and land as gifts to the Eagles after Nigeria won the Nations Cup in South Africa in February.
