PMAN Elects Female President
Alhaja Aminat Oluwaremilekun Dangaji has been elected as the new Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, President unopposed. She is the second female president in the history of PMAN leadership.
The first PMAN female president was the late Christy Essien-Igbokwe.
Dangaji, who was the Lagos State chapter 1st vice chairman for three consecutive terms, won the election unopposed Thursday at the 14th Biennial Delegates Conference held at Nigerian Army Guest House, Sabo-Yaba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
She was immediately sworn in by the PMAN legal adviser, Fure Joshua Kara in the presence of delegates from at least 25 states across the nation.
Speaking shortly after the swearing in, Dangaji unveiled the agenda of her administration, stating that the new leadership of PMAN will foster unity among members, organize paid shows for members, ensure members’ royalties are paid promptly, co-operate with the federal government on economic empowerment and work towards PMAN permanent secretariat as well as zero tolerance for piracy.
Danagji, a musician, music promoter and marketer, is the brain behind Majek Fashek rehabilitation initiative and she is set to rebrand and upgrade PMAN.
