This was made known yesterday in Abeokuta by the new Chairman of the NBA in the state, Barrister Adebayo Aremu Ayodele, shortly after he was sworn in as Notary Public of the Supreme Court at the High Court, Isabo, Abeokuta.

Also sworn in was Barrister Benjamin Oludare Ogunmodede.

“The Bar is ready to continue to partner with the judiciary in the area of anti-corruption drive. The national body of the NBA has set up a very strong body of which my humble self is a member, to move against corruption and other sharp practices both at the Bar and the Bench because the song everywhere now is about the corruption in the judiciary. We are to carry out the assignment without fear or favour,” Ayodele told P.M.NEWS.

On financial autonomy for the judiciary, Ayodele said: “Even though, the judiciary seems to be the weakest of the organs of government, we are seeking financial autonomy for it. The judiciary is not an appendage of the other tiers of government. So, we will make a strong push for the judiciary to be granted financial autonomy,” he assured.

Earlier, the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade who conducted the ceremony on behalf of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, reiterated the readiness of the judiciary to remain the hope of the common man.
