IBB Golf Club Hosts Amateur Tourney In Nigeria
History will be made on 2 April when the first tee is played to start the 2nd All African Junior Golf Championships.
The Kids Golf International, KGI, event co-hosted by the Lady Captain of IBB Golf & Country Club, Mrs. Anne Addeh marks the beginning of new era for amateur golf in Nigeria. The event will take place at IBB Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
The stroke play tourney, P.M.News Sports gathered will take place over three days where junior players (ages 5 to 17years) will compete to earn world ranking points. The world ranking point systems is managed by the R&A and the United States Golf Association, USGA. It is used to invite world class athletes on sponsor’s exemption to international ranked events such as the British Open or U.S. Open.
An estimated 90 junior players from IBB, Enugu, Rayfield GC, Ibori Golf Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, Ikeja Golf Club, Port Harcourt Golf Club, Rosani Golf Club as well as players from the UK, France, Ghana, U.S.A are expected to feature in the tourney.
Kids Golf International began for the first time in Nigeria in 2012 and is dedicated to building Nigerian future golf professionals from the grassroots.
