Owoeri, Obiefule Move To Sweden

The Scandanavian transfer window coughed up two Nigerian players who made transitions before the window closed.

Former Enyimba, Heartland and Feyenoord of Holland midfielder, John Owoeri, is a bosman signing for Swedish Allsvenskan outfit, Ãtvidaberg FF.

Owoeri, who also had a stint in Belgium with KV Westerlo, will try to use the move to the Swedish top flight to reignite his career which held so much promise after his sterling displays at the Fifa Under-20 World Championship held in 2005 in Holland.

Paul Obiefule is another Nigerian also taking his trade to the Swedish top flight. The former FC Lyn-Olso midfielder, who has played for the Super Eagles, has left Finnish side KuPs to join up with Assyriska FF.

The 26 year old attacking midfielder, who was once touted for a move to the English Premiership, is at his sixth Scandinavian team after stints with Viborg FF, Lyn, H?nefoss, Lillestrom and KuPs.

Obiefule, who started his career in Nigeria with Heartland and is comfortable as an attacking or defensive midfielder, will team up with his new teammates next week.

Earlier on in February, Nigerian striker, Abiola Dauda left Swedish side, Kalmar FF to team up with Serbian Super Liga outfit, Red Star Belgrade.
