There are many pluses and football positives about the U-17 Championship as a tournament but very few of them come close to watching a young hit-man at work at such a youthful age, and if he does so with skill, speed and a smile – wow that a marvel to behold.

In Success Isaac, a scorer of four goals in a 6-1 win over Ghana, Nigeria have perhaps unearthed another gem of a striker. The aptly named Success has been nothing but himself on the field of play so far. With a polite and ever present smile, Success told Cafonline.com that he would like to win the golden boot for the top scorer at this tournament.

The boy from Edo State told cafonline.com that he first played football on the streets back in Edo State in street team put together by his elder brother.

“The most number of goals l have scored in a match before last Sunday was three but through the hard work and determination and following my coach’s instruction l managed to score four times,” he said.

Back in Edo, a state in central southern Nigeria, Success says his elder brother was one of the best players in the team but it was him that went to a football academy in the state. Currently playing for Megapp Academy in Benin City back in Edo State Success has big dreams. “Growing up my hero was Rashid Yekini. His scoring abilities and determination to take Nigeria football to the highest level impressed me and l want to break his Nigeria senior team goal-scoring record and also take my country to the World Cup.

“I have watched Yekini‘s DVD and saw his great goals and that inspires me to do the same. I also admire Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon too, he is a great striker and l have always loved him wherever he plays and he proved at every club he played for that he can score goals and that for me is a striker . I would like to be striker like him in that respect and want to prove in this U-17 tournament that l am a striker,” said Success.
