Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has commended the Golden Eaglets’ campaigning in the ongoing African U-17 Championship on their qualification for the final, describing it is a good omen for Nigerian football.
A statement by Globacom in Lagos on Thursday described the Eaglets as true conquerors, urging them to go for the trophy.
The Golden Eaglets defeated the Tunisian team 4-2 in the semi final to set up a final cracker against Ivory Coast tomorrow.
“We reckon with the great fighting spirit the team have so far demonstrated and we believe the spirit will help the team to achieve the ultimate goal of lifting the trophy,” the statement said. “A team that have scored 17 goals in four matches deserve special recognition and we urge them not to rest on their oars until the trophy is won on Saturday.”
Globacom also commended the Eaglets’ coaching crew for their tenacity while asking Nigerians to sustain their support and prayers for the team. “We started this year well by winning the Africa Cup of Nations trophy in South Africa and we should continue the winning streak in Morocco,” the statement further said.
