Another person has been reported dead as two more buildings collapsed in Bariga and Ikorodu areas of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria on Wednesday after heavy rainfall.
A two-storey building under construction collapsed on Tuesday at Ojodu area, leading to the demise of two construction workers.
One of the collapsed buildings is located at 19 Shogbawon Street, Bariga, killing a 27-year old woman.
Two teenagers and a kid were rescued at Ikorodu where another three-storey building under construction collapsed.
P.M. NEWS gathered that the collapsed building in Bariga had earlier claimed a life last year when it partially caved in.
Today, rescue workers struggled to bring out several workers said to be trapped in the rubble.
“More people are still trapped in the buildings,” says spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye.
