A young man who has just returned from prison has been sent back to Kirikiri prison  in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, over alleged armed robbery and snatching of three SUVs.

The suspect, identified as Dominic Ogbaji, 26, was arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, after he allegedly snatched  three SUVs.

After he was interrogated, he was charged to Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

P.M.NEWS gathered that luck ran out on Ogbaji when he took one of the stolen SUVs to a car mart where it was displayed for sale.

The owner of the stolen vehicle, Mr. Duglas Chinwuba saw his vehicle on display for sale and he alerted the police who moved in and arrested Ogbaji and two others.

The three vehicles the SARs operatives recovered from the suspect include the Acura MD X SUV belonging to Chinwuba which Ogbaji allegedly snatched from the owner’s residence at Ajani Salau Street, Oguntade, Shasha area of Lagos.

The suspect allegedly trailed Chinwuba from Cotonou, where he bought the SUV, to his Lagos residence before snatching it along with his phones and jewellery.

After he was charged to court his plea was not taken and the magistrate, Mrs. Sule Hamsat ordered that he should be remanded in Kiriki prison, while the duplicate of his case file should be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP, for advice. The case was adjourned till 12, June 2013.
