Deputy-Governorship Candidate Dumps PDP

Mr.Tunde Oladunjoye who was the running mate to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate,Gen. Tunji Olurin in 2011 election in Ogun State and former Chairman of Ijebu East local government,has dumped the PDP, declaring that as a pragmatic politician, he cannot be static.

In a statement posted on his social media network, facebook today, Oladunjoye who is an aide to the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina said after two years of protracted internal crisis, “the Ogun State chapter of the PDP remains irreconcilable.”

The statement captioned: “The Need to Move On” reflected on the 2011 election saying, “we lost that bid, not for lack of popularity or hard work, but more due to dirty intra-party shenanigans which rendered our party prostate and hence unelectable during the hotly contested 2011 polls.

“I remain eternally grateful to my family, friends, fans, supporters, loyalists and leaders, for their backing before, during and after the 2011 governorship election”, it reads.

The Ijebu Itele born politician, who had a running battle with the former governor in the State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel saying, “as a pragmatic politician, one cannot afford to remain static in the quest for public good; there is therefore the need for one forge ahead. To this end, consultations are on-going”, he said.
