Supreme Court Gets A New Jurist

The Supreme Court bench was Friday increased following President Goodluck Jonathan’s approval of the appointment of Justice K.M.O. Kekere-Ekun as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council under the Chairmanship of Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.

According to a press statement released by Mr. Soji Oye, an Assistant Director of Communication at the National Judicial Council, President Jonathan’s approval followed the confirmation of Justice Kekere-Ekun’s appointment by the Senate on 26th June, 2013.

Justice Kekere-Ekun is slated to be sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar, on Monday, 8th July, 2013 at the Supreme Court premises in Abuja.
