Maid Docked For N10m Theft
A house maid, Miss Christiana Jonah has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magisterate’s court, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, for allegedly stealing over N10.3 million belonging to her boss, Mrs Adeola Yusuf.
Christiana was alleged to have stolen cash, gold wristwatch, jewellery, coral beads, perfume spray, and women scarfs belonging to her boss.
These offences are punishable under section 409, 285(1),(2) of the criminal laws of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.
When the charge was read to the accused, she pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi admitted her to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The magistrate ordered that the two sureties must have affidavits of means.
The case was adjourned till 5 August, 2013.
