Family loses 3 kids in collapsed house, baby survives

Seven hours after a search and rescue operation by officials of Kaduna State Emergency Agency and Red Cross at the scene of the collapsed three storey building in Kaduna, seven persons trapped were found alive including a 48 day old baby. Three persons were found dead…all children.

It was gathered that the three children found dead belong to the same parents. They were killed by the concrete slabs of the building that crashed on them.

A NEMA official who spoke to P.M.News today expressed satisfaction that the effort put into the rescue operation was not in vain as some persons trapped were found alive.

P.M.News learnt that the rescue operation which commenced at 4pm yesterday was completed at 2am today.

Habib Shittu an uncle to the three children that died, expressed shock about the death of the children.

“We are grateful to God that three of my brother’s children survived while we have accepted the fate of the other three that died.” He stated.

On the whereabouts of the parents when the incident occurred , Shittu
hinted that the mother of the children went to work while their father is in France on official duty.
