I Am Different

If there is one act that is waiting to explode in the Nigerian music industry, it is Ejiro Ruth Okosun, simply known as Ejiro. The young dynamic and creative artiste is gradually carving a niche for herself as one female singer with potentials to be great. Her latest singles Stole My Heart Away and Number One are testimonies.

Stole My Heart Away is a dancehall song with good lyrical content. It is currently enjoying airplay nationwide with its video hitting different stations very soon.

The video, shot in South Africa, was directed by a South African based Nigerian, Pius Okaba.

With her electrifying way of creating a stage presence, Ejiro says she is different from others on the Nigerian music scene.

She came into the limelight when she won the music category of the maiden edition of The Delta Talent Quest. She walked home with N1million cash prize and a record deal.

Born and bred in Sapele, Delta State, Ejiro has performed at various events which include the swearing in of the Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and Sammie Okposo’s “Out of Africa” concert.

She is inspired by the likes of Omowumi, Waje and Tiwa Savage, Tuface Idibia and M.I.

Jossy Wonders Drops Shakara

Jossy Wonders, a talented singer, is set to drop a new song, Shakara.

The song, with an accompanying video, is already enjoying airplay across the country.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS Entertainment Café, Wonders said the song is all about ladies who love to play hard to get, at the same time desire the attention of the guys.

The Ogoja, Cross River State-born artiste who started his career in 2004, added that he is presently in the studio working on more songs that will make up his forthcoming debut album.

 

Mbryo Kicks Off Ragabomi Nite

The club tour tagged Ragabomi Nite with Rugged Records artiste, Mbryo, aka, ‘The Special One’ kicked off at Cloud 9, a club in Bovina View Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State on 7 July.

The tour, according to a statement from the label, was aimed at introducing Mbryo to people in the town.

Among the artistes that took the stage to support the young act were, Ruggedman, Tunde Ednut, Shegzy and Rapsmith.  The crew first visited popular radio stations, Royal FM and Cruise FM for radio interviews during which lots of excited people called in to talk to them and wish Mbryo luck.

Warri, Delta State born Mbryo was a Mass Communication graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. He later moved to Lagos where he was introduced to Ruggedman by Chinedu, an artiste who recorded a song with him.

The Ragabomi Nite will also visit Abuja, Jos, Benin, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo, Ibadan and Benin Republic.

The leader of Bethel’s Voice International, Evangelist Bamidele Owoeye will launch his debut album, Bigi Bigger God  (BBG) on Sunday 28, July.

The formal presentation of the album and fund-raising event will hold at Triumphant Charismatic Ministries, Ikorodu Club road, Aga, Ikorodu, Lagos.

Dolondolo Drops Finegal

Ebube Robert Eze, popularly known as Dolondolo, is back with a single titled Finegal.

The song is expected to catch music lovers’ attention is also enjoying regular airplay on major radio stations and and clubs.

The Enugu State-born singer made his debut in 2008 with two singles Dolondolo and Higher. They were followed by videos that enjoyed air play across the country for a long time.

Dolondolo is a unique artiste with a style of his own. He has a brilliant stage presence and pulling off breath-taking performances with songs that tell stories.

He has featured in several top concerts and shows such as Felabration, Benin Model Show and Monster Ball Party 2011. He was also nominated for the Next Rated category at the Peak Awards 2012.

The Olabisi Onabanjo University graduate of Computer Science said he is inspired by great musicians such as the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Tuface Idibia, Wyclef Jean, Akon and many more.

He is presently in the studio working on other songs with the hits maker, Dtunes and other producers in the industry.

Kcee, Kas Head To Beverly Hills

On 13 July, the Star Music Trek Train will move to Beverly Hills Resort, Nnewi, Anambra State, for the sixth leg of the nationwide concert.

The concert comes on the heels of last weekend’s concert, which held at the Recreation Club in Aba.

The line up of artistes for the Saturday event includes M.I, Timaya, Kcee, JMartins, Kas and 2012 Star Quest winners, Crystals.

Rap star, M.I, will make a re-appearance at the Nnewi gig after missing out in Aba last week. The artiste had citied an additional reason for fans to attend this weekend’s concert: “It’s been awesome so far in the cities that we have toured and it’s obvious that Nigerians love music. One thing that is becoming even more clear is the over-abundance of talents present in the country which need to be properly harnessed,” he added.

FESTAC, Lokoja, Owerri, Enugu and Aba are some of the cities the tour has visited with thousands of music fans entertained across the country. It will also visit Asaba, Abeokuta and Agege, with a grand finale concert at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on 10 August.
