Seyi Shay To Rock Big Brother Stage

She has toured with American giants P.Diddy and Beyonce, collaborated with Justin Timberlake and 2Face Idibia. On Sunday, 14 July, the sexy fast-rising sensation Seyi Shay will work her magic on the Big Brother stage during the night’s live eviction show.

P.M.NEWS Entertainment Café learnt that the singer who was chosen for the event because of her pedigree has already arrived Johannesburg, South Africa, in preparation to get on the stage to rock it for Africa.

A number of Africa’s biggest stars have made it to this year’s Big Brother The Chase’s Eviction shows. The likes of Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, D’Prince, Mafikizolo, Radio and Weasel, E.L, Wakazi have serenaded Africa and more top-rated artistes are expected to perform before the end of the 90-day reality show.

Born in London to Nigerian parents, Seyi Shay (Deborah Oluwa-Seyi Joshua) has been performing since she was six years old. She got her break with the London Community Choir and hasn’t looked back since then, performing around the world and collaborating with some of the hottest artistes in the world. She signed her first record deal in 2005, wrote and produced three songs for the Konami Game soundtrack, Crime Life and wrote You Will See for Mel C all before she clocked aged 18.

Shortly afterwards, she auditioned for British Pop/R&B group From Above, winning the role of lead singer. Their debut album Breaking From Above lent its name to their MTV reality show, which was broadcast in more than 166 countries around the world. The band supported Beyonce on her “I Am” UK tour in 2009/10 and 2011 and presented an MTV EMA Music Award to Bruno Mars.

In the same year, Seyi wrote White Lies for international selling rapper, Chipmunk, and has written for and worked with a number of industry heavy weights like Justin Timberlake, Brian Michael Cox, 2Face  Idibia, Bilal, Chipmunk,Rob Knoxx, Rob A, Harmony and Cameron Wallace.
