Presidency: It’s North’s turn, says Ango Abdullahi
By Femi Adi/Kaduna
Professor Ango Abdullahi, former adviser to former Nigerian leader, Olusegun Obasanjo on Food and Security and Secretary-General of Northern Elders Forum, NEF said northern Nigeria must produce Nigeria’s president in 2015.

Abdullahi insisted Jonathan must quit office in 2015 after he betrayed what he called a gentleman’s agreement, when he chose to run in 2011.
On where the northern candidate should come from, Ango stated,”North is one and any candidate irrespective of tribe and faith could emerge if he is widely supported by the people”.
According to him, there is need to understand that demograghic statistics favours the north to keep power as much as it desires, but the region considers overall interest when it conceded power in 1999 to former president Obasanjo and in 2011 to President Jonathan.
