Legendary newspaper columnist, Odunewu dies

Veteran journalist and legendary newspaper columnist, Alhaji Alade Odunewu is dead.

Sources said he died Thursday at St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, souhtwest Nigeria. He was aged 86.

The cause of his death could not be immediately ascertained. But it could be old-age related.

Popularly called Allahdey, he maintained a column in the defunct Daily Times newspaper in which he wrote pungent articles about the issues of the day.

He was also a former chairman of the Public Complaints Commission in Lagos State.
