Mbu: PSC boss Okiro in Port Harcourt for fact-finding

The Chairman of the Nigeria Police Service Commission, NPSC, and former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, this morning arrived Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on a fact finding mission based on the petitions against state Police Commissioner, Mbu Joseph Mbu, by the Rivers state Government.

Mbu has been accused of the partisanship and unprofessionalism in the discharge of his duties in the handling of the political crisis in Rivers State.

Governor Chibuike Amaechi had sent a petition to NPSC, asking that Mbu should be redeployed because has a hidden agenda in the state to instigate crisis by taking side in the political divide in the discharge of his duties.

He has been accused of playing politics instead of concentrating on his primary duty of securing lives and property in the state.
