D’Banj, Olamide Clash In Abeokuta




GOOD Music top star, D’Banj has always proved to be the ultimate crowd pleaser. That was exactly what he delivered on Saturday, 27 July during the eighth edition of the 2013 Star Music Trek which held at the Abeokuta Sports Club, Abeokuta, Ogun State.


D’Banj, placed his set in the crowd’s hands and urged them to ask for any song they wanted him to sing.

His aim, he claimed, was to please, as he sang every song his fans requested, bringing back many fresh memories right from his Mo’Hits days.

The entertainer, alongside fast rising rap star Olamide, ensured that the huge crowd had more fun. Olamide, who is gradually carving a niche for himself in the Nigerian music industry, gave one of his best performances, with eager fans -who had been waiting patiently for him- rushing  from the every angle of the ground and surging toward the stage.

Juke Box, 2010 winners of Star Quest, was a delight to watch as they performed some of the hits that won them the coveted 2010 Star Quest Crown. The melody makers are fast becoming a crowd favourite, winning a hard earned place in their fans’ hearts.

After a long break from The Trek, Sound Sultan came well prepared to get the crowd dancing first as he dished out many of his popular hits accompanied by his live band.

Also for 45 minutes, cheered on by the appreciative crowd, Mavin Records star, Dr SID’s motley selection of songs kept the crowd on their toes, fuelling anticipation of even more thrilling performances from other artistes during the concert.

Last act of the night was popular Fuji music star, Abass Obesere, who utilised his 45 minutes with a dramatic performance of some of his greatest songs. Accompanied by his gorgeously dressed dancers, the Fuji star’s performance proved to be the fitting climax of an exciting night.

The event was compered by hilarious standup comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, who ensured that there wasn’t a dull moment throughout the night.

Star Music Trek will also berth in Agege and Surulere, Lagos State. The grand finale of the music tour will hold at the National Stadium, Surulere in Lagos on 10 August.
