Lafarge-WAPCO leads gainers at Nigeria's Exchange

Equities listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday remained upbeat, as the All-Share Index appreciated by 0.99 per cent.

The market capitalisation at the NSE rose by N119 billion to close at N12.126 trillion. The market capitalisation recorded as at Wednesday was N12.007 trillion.

The All-Share Index which opened at 37,914.32 appreciated by 377.74 basis points or 0.99 per cent to close at 38,292.06 points.

Wapco led the gainers’ chart with N5, to close at N110 per share.

Guinness followed with N4.99 to close at N250 per share, while Julius Berger grew by N3.70, to close at N83.69 per share.

Okomu Oil appreciated by N3.41 to close at N47.91, while Nigerian Breweries rose with N2.72, to close at N175.01 per share.

On the other hand, 7UP led the losers’ chart by dropping N1.55, to close at N74.35 per share.

Portpaint depreciated by 58k to close at N54.50 per share, while PZ Cussons dipped by 38k, to close at N45.60 per share.

NASCON fell by 30k to close at N12 per share, while Nestle dropped by N22, to close at N990 per share.

Investors exchanged 239.51 million shares worth N3.4 billion traded in 5,590 deals, in contrast to 642.70 million shares valued at N4.1 billion traded in 5,974 deals on Wednesday.
