The Lagos State House of Assembly on Friday confirmed Mr. Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi as Commissioner for Finance in the state.

Nominated days ago by Governor Babatunde Fashola, his confirmation sailed through with ease since most members could confirm that has been playing a major role as part of the current administration in the state.

Before the confirmation as Commissioner for Finance, Gbeleyi was Special Adviser on Public Private Partnership to the Governor.

A Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Gbeleyi is currently coordinating the state government’s efforts for the delivery of such landmark projects as the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Toll Road, the Lekki–Ikoyi Toll Bridge, the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the Lekki–Epe Airport among others.

Earlier at the special sitting held for the sake of confirming Gbeleyi, the House had commended Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for their courageous efforts to ensure the party’s registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Moving the motion under Matters of Urgent Public Importance, a member, Suru Avoseh, described APC as a party that would improve the lives of Nigerians.
