Striker Emmanuel Emenike and defender Kenneth Omeruo have opted out of Wednesday’s friendly against South Africa in Durban.
Nigeria team spokesman Dayo Enebi Achor said Emenike has asked to be excused as he is on the verge of moving from Russian club Spartak Moscow to Fenerbache of Turkey.
Omeruo, meanwhile, has had a recurrence of a shoulder injury suffered in the Confederations Cup game against Spain in Brazil.
Doctors at his club, Chelsea, have told him to skip the match to be played in aid of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
South Africa-based defenders Gege Soriola and James Okwuosa will replace the two players.
