Team Nigeria early today qualified for the final of the 4x400m Women’s Relay at the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow, Russia.
Nigeria’s quartet of Omolara Omotosho, Patience George, Bukola Abogunloko and Regina George posted a season best of 3 minutes 27 seconds to place second in their heat and qualified for the final that would hold Saturday afternoon.
Great Britain’s of Eilidh Child, Shana Cox, Margaret Adeoye and Christine Ohuruogu won the race in a time of 3 minutes 25 seconds.
Team Nigeria are ranked 5th as they head into a star studded final race that include the USA, Jamaica, Great Britain, Italy, Romania, France and hosts, Russia.
The Russian team were the fastest in the heat as they return in a time of 3 minutes 23 seconds.
