Kano Pillars team get car gifts from Gov. Kwankwaso

Rabiu Kwankwaso: overseas scholarships

The Chairman, Kano Pillars FC, Abba Galadima, has lauded Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of the northern Nigerian state of Kano for presenting 28 KIA cars to the club’s players and technical crew.

The presentation ceremony, held on Tuesday in Kano, was in fulfillment of the governor’s promise to the club for winning the 2011/2012 Nigeria Premier League.

Galadima said he was elated by the development, saying that the governor had proved that “he is a man of his words’’.

Apart from a car each, the players were also rewarded with N500, 000 each, while the members of the technical crew got N750, 000 each.

“I feel elated. He fulfilled his promise after making a pledge to the team when we won the league and I’m very grateful to him.

“This development has really excited the players and technical crew and every one of us have been touched positively to a great extent.

“The governor has shown he’s a man of his words. He is giving us his relentless support over the years and that has made us evolved into a top flight club,” Galadima said.

The chairman added that the development would motivate the team in its quest to win the 2012/2013 Globacom Premier League title back-to-back.

He noted that all of the players and technical crew members were mentally and physically ready to make their title defence certain.

“What the governor has done is a huge motivation to the team as we hope to defend the title we won last season.

“I believe the players and coaches are determined to give their best and I’m sure they will,” he said.

Galadima described the ongoing season’s officiating as an improvement on the previous, saying that a lot of teams were earning more valuable points away from home.

Pillars are currently occupying the second spot on the league table with 42 points from 25 matches, with an outstanding game on hand.

Enyimba is currently leading the log with 43 points from 26 matches and with 12 matches left in the league.
