Ogun Labour Party rolls out registration committee

Abiodun Onafuye/ Abeokuta

The Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party today inaugurated its
Registration Committee in a carnival like ambience, creating traffic
gridlock in the Abeokuta metropolis.

At the event held at the secretariat on Adatan Road, four members of the state assembly were in attendance, along with two members of the House of Representatives, Abiodun Akinlade, elected on the platform of the defunct Action Congress and Rasaki Adewusi popularly known as RSK from the People’s Party of Nigeria.

The State lawmakers in attendance were Remmy Hazzan(APC), Adijat
Oladapo-Adeleye(APC), Samson Onademuren(APC) and Joseph Adegbesan
(PPN).

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy National Chairman of
the party, who is also a member of the House of Representatives,
representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Joseph Akinlaja
stated that the presence of current members of the ruling party in the
State at the event showed that the days of the Governor Ibikunle
Amosun-led administration are numbered because they have lost
confidence in him.

Akinlaja, who represented the National Chairman of the party, Dan
Iwuayanwu, who, according to him, was in Anambra State for the party’s
gubernatorial primaries, advised the All Progressive Congress(APC) “to
be calm and peaceful, so that they would be able to accept defeat when
Labour Party sweeps the polls in 2015”.

The State secretary of LP, Olaposi Oginni declared: ” We are joined here today as one big family who are ready to dislodge the incompetence of the ruling party in the state; to dislodge the incompetence of Ibikunle Amosun government, to correct the anomalies going on in the State”.

“This gathering is an evidence of the fact that the government they
have in Ogun State is crumbling. If members of ACN have willingly decamped to LP today especially members of Ogun State House of Assembly, led by the corps Marshall of the House, Remmy Hazzan, all has finished for the party and we are here today to nail the coffin of APC.”

“When they came, they said Change, we are ready to give the State the
positive change they need and move away from the politics of
deceit”,Ogini added.

Ondo State governor, Segun Mimiko was represented at the event by the
Ondo State Chairman of the Labour party, Olu Ogidan who was also accompanied by his secretary, Dr. Tayo Olujuyigbe.
