Nigeria’s D’Tigers book Q/final date with Senegal

Nigeria’s D’Tigers on Tuesday,walloped Central African Republic to book a quarter-final place in the on-going 2013 Afrobasket Championship, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Their opponent is five-time champion, Senegal.

The victory made it four wins in four matches for the Nigerian team.

D’Tigers completely dominated the game as Nigeria ran over CAR with a 112-75 points victory.

Nigeria led from start to finish and even had the luxury of affording the only homebased player,Stanley Gumut,some game time. He ended up getting his first points in the championship.

Stan Okoye was the star of the game,hitting a game-high 29 points while Max Kouguere led for CAR with 22 points.

Nigeria however faces five-time African champions Senegal in the quarter-finals.

All the quarter-final games will be played on Wednesday, with Angola facing Morocco, followed by Egypt squaring up against Cape Verde.

Cote d’Ivoire will tackle Cameroon.

The Nigeria-Senegal match will be the last for the day.
