The Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt on Sunday emerged winners of the 2013 Women Federation Cup by beating Nasarawa Amazon FC of Lafia 3-0.

The match, played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, was Angels’ fourth Federation Cup title win in the club’s history.

Angels took the lead through Gloria Ofoegbu after sustained pressure paid-off in the 42nd minute.

The Port Harcourt girls doubled the lead in the 56th minute after a beautiful inter-play in Amazon’s 18-yard box was scored by Elizabeth Addo.

Angels made it 3-0 in the 80th minute when Ofoegbu converted her second goal of the encounter.

An excited Edwin Okon, the Head Coach of Angels, told reporters that his team deserved the victory because Angels dominated the encounter.
