Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF) is ready to host the All-African Junior Squash Championship (AAJSC) billed for 2014.

Adamu Erena, President of NSF told newsmen after the quarterfinals of the ongoing Director-General’s Cup in Abuja.

He said that the national stadium was equipped with the squash facilities required to host the events but that they only required to be upgraded before the game.

“We have the facilities and all it takes to host the game but the facilities need to be upgraded. The ministry has taken the responsibility to make sure that they improve on the facilities we have.

“We have the two more courts we need; the only thing we need now is just to fix the glass bar on them which I think can be completed before the game commences.’’

The president, in a reaction to the game not getting listed among the Olympics, said: “It will not draw the federation back in anyway but rather, it will challenge them to do more.’’

“We do not see it as a drawback; you see when you fight and lose, you are sure to fight another day, so I do not see this as a drawback; it is just preparing us more to fight once more.

“Am telling you, come rain, come shine we will surely be in the Olympics someday,’’ he said.
