Oyo PDP taunts Ajimobi over cabinet dissolution
The Oyo State chapter of Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the dissolution of the Oyo state cabinet by Governor Abiola Ajimobi as an indication of the failure of his government, saying its position that the current state government is a let-down has been justified.
Ajimobi belongs to the All Progressives Congress.
According to a release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the party, Mr Kehinde Salawu, no leader would sack a performing team.
It thus deemed the recent sack of the entire cabinet by Ajimobi as an acceptance by the governor that he and his team have failed in the last three years.
“The popular saying that you don’t change a winning team surely makes the governor’s decision a justification of the disappointment of the people of the state in Ajimobi’s government. If he could sack the entire cabinet, then we ask him to prove that they have been effective and up to task in the self-acclaimed reformation of the state. If their ineffectiveness was one of the reasons for their sack, then Ajimobi and his party owe the people an apology for being such a catastrophic failure,” the PDP stated.
According to Salawu, not only the people of the state but also members of the ruling party have seen the handwriting on the wall that “Ajimobi had been failing in the task of taking the state to the promise land and it is heart-warming to know that the governor has recognised his failure.
” We only urge the people to put an end to the shameful outing by voting for the PDP, a party that is ready to fulfil the desires of the masses and take the state to the Eldorado.”
