Man claims ex-mistress hypnotised him
A 36 year old driving school instructor, Adesina Adebayo, of Aso Pada, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, on Monday claimed that his mistress, Aminatu Akano, deceived him into abandoning his family to live with her.
Adebayo is standing trial for the alleged defamation of Akano’s character.
In his testimony, Adebayo told the court that he and Akano had a six month relationship and that all through the period, he abandoned his family.
“She hypnotised me and made me to abandon my family. I packed all my belongings and abandoned my wife and children to stay with her in her house located in Aso Pada, Mararaba. She also hypnotised me into leaving my work as an instructor and I became her slave,” he told the court.
Adebayo also alleged that Akano forced him into taking an oath that he will never leave her.
“I admit that my family really suffered during the six months I was with Akano,” he said, adding that when he left her, Akano filed charges against him.
After listening to the testimony of Adebayo, the presiding judge, Mr Albert Maga, adjourned the case to 7 October for continuation of hearing.
Adebayo was arraigned on July 12, 2012 for alleged defamation.
The Counsel to Akano, Mr Ola Anthony, told the court that Adebayo had during a programme “Lean on Me” on Capital FM Radio, alleged that Akano, committed murder through the use of `juju’.
Anthony claimed that Adebayo said some things that were capable of maligning the character of his client on radio.
