Over 100 power product exhibitors from 16 countries were in Lagos last week to showcase the various products to new investors in the country’s energy sector.
The organiser of the exhibition which took place at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Informa Energy Group said the exhibition was put in place to woo new investors in the Nigeria power sector into patronizing products on display by the exhibitors.
Some of the power product exhibitors at the event include Mars Energo from Russia; FAAB Industries, United Arab Emirate; PT. Selatan, Indonesia; Elemko SA, Greece; Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, Germany; KP Electric Co. Ltd, South Korea; Phenix Technologies Inc, Switzerland; BRB Cable Industries, Bangladesh; Atlantic International, France and many others from China, Bulgaria, India, UK, Turkey and Oman.
Director of Informa Energy Group, Anita Matthews told P.M.NEWS BusinessWorld that the exhibition was necessitated by the request by its international exhibitors to widen their product distribution to the burgeoning Nigeria power market.
She said the exhibition was further necessitated by Nigeria’s recent effort at improving the power sector through privatization.
It will be recall that the Nigerian government last week concluded the power sector privatization with the handing over of the former energy generation and distribution companies to successful bidders.
Matthews said part of the exhibition plan is to reach out to the new power company owners and introduce new energy equipment products to them.
Some of the products on displace at the exhibition include, power cables and conductors, transformers, inverters, solar energy panels and devices, high voltage components, industrial batteries, insulation equipments, electric meters, control equipments, data communications equipments and compressors.
Others are circuit breakers, capacitor and capacitor banks, cable laying equipments, bolts, nuts, chains and fittings.
Matthews said the exhibitors are not just showcasing their products but are also sharing the technology behind the products.
On how the exhibition will impact on the Nigerian economy, Matthews said the exhibition allow a platform for manufacturers and suppliers to have direct contact with the customers, be it the consultants or contractors. This according to her, will afford both parties opportunity to interact and share ideas.
She said all the companies exhibiting products at the event have world class international certification and as such the Nigerian investment community should be assured of the products they get from manufacturers at the event.
