Dangote Cement, Forte Oil record gains at NSE

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) remained on the upbeat on Wednesday with the market indicators rising by 0.96 per cent.

The All-Share Index, which opened at 36,904.52, appreciated by 355.13 points to close at 37,259.65. Also, the market capitalisation rose by N113 billion to close at N11.867 trillion from the N11.754 trillion recorded on Tuesday.

Dangote Cement led the gainers’ chart by N4.94 to close at N194.94 per share.

Forte Oil gained N2.23 to close at N47.80 per share, while OkomuOil grew by N2 to close at N45.50 per share. Cadbury appreciated by 94k to close at N50.25, while Zenith Bank rose by 92k to close at N21.97 per share.

On the other hand, Mobil led the losers’ chart with N4.50 to close at N110.05 per share.

Guinness depreciated by N1.40 to close at N245.60 per share, while International Breweries dipped by 58k to close at N19.41 per share.

Berger Paint fell by 40k to close at N8.30 per share, while Portpaint dropped 25k to close at N4.81 per share.

In all, investors exchanged a total of 288.02 million shares worth N2.3 billion in 4,482 deals.

This was against the 283.71 million shares valued at N2.9 billion traded in 4,467 deals on Tuesday.
